Permission Granted !!!!

Great news today we received a letter from the council granting us permission for our new house build.

Its been a dream of ours for twenty odd years to be able to build our own house and we are now one step closer.

As Michael our architect said this morning the real work starts now.

Looking forward to it with fear and excitement.

There are ten Planning Conditions all of them seam to be OK. Details below.

Further Information Update

All six items of the Further Information letter have been handed in to the Planning Dept. yesterday 18th May 2012.

We should be able to start work in ten weeks time. Four weeks for the Planning Dept. to give us a decision, four weeks for any local objections to be lodged and then two weeks for us to give in the Notice of Commencement.

The first thing I have to arrange is for the roadway to be constructed to the site, all 100m of it.Then the firm ground for the piling rig to sit on. Lots of stone is coming on to the site.

Elevation Update Again!!

After seeing Mairead in the planning office we can now send in the plans for there officially approval.

Mairead has said that we should not get a refusal for our plans, but if there are any further concerns she will add them as Conditions of Approval.

Also due to the planning departments earlier concerns, we have had to drop the house by 600mm into the hill. This has meant that all the levels for the septic tank and percolation area have had to change.

My deepest gratitude to Patrick Gallagher of  Design Energy Homes Ltd and his team for all his help in making all the necessary changes.

Impact needs Diminishing ! ! !

After a telephone conversation with the new planner we have had to drop the house 600mm lower down it will not make to head heights any lower inside but will diminish the over all impact of the house also we have had to make the height of the garage and fuel store lower.

We have a meeting with the planner on Tuesday 8th May so she can give us an agreement in principle to our changes. Then we can officially issue all our paperwork again so we can continue with the planning process.

Drawing with new changes.

Elevation Update

Michael our architect has just updated the outside elevations of the house, lots of changes. The house has gabled ends and crisper, cleaner lines and the garage has more storage space.

Our planner has moved to look after another area so we have a new planner.

She has a few issues re the height of the house but Michael is talking to her to convince her other wise.

New drawing will be uploaded soon

Meeting With Planner Update

Had a great meeting with the planner today the changes to the house that he wants could actually improve its exterior look, so well worth going. My architect said that was the best meeting and outcome that he has ever had before!!

We have six months to get all the info in the Further Information Schedule back to planning dept. but the architect says that he will be able to do it in one.

Then the planning dept. have a further four weeks to give us an answer so the clock is running!!!
